how we learn

We learn through many ways, including doing things for ourselves and learning togetherChildren are extremely curious about the world around them. From the time they are infants, children observe and interact with their environment. As they grow and develop, children are motivated to make sense of the world around them. Learning is a natural process with many methods and modes that impacts how children develop socially and the physical state of their brain.

Children learn by being curious…children who are curious are motivated to learn.

Children learn through speaking and listening…exchanging ideas, emotions, feelings and information through speech is a very natural and effective way to learn.

Children learn through having fun…information associated with strong emotions is more memorable — learning that is enjoyable stays with us longer.

Children learn in different ways…every learner is unique — learning is maximized when information is received in different ways.

Children learn by doing…hands-on and minds-on experiences affect our memories, emotions and the physical 'wiring' of our brain.

Children learn through repetition…multiple experiences with a given object or phenomena build neural pathways.

Children learn together…learning is often a social activity. Children learn not only by doing, but also through observing what others do.
