who we are
Of our 18 committed staff members, many have graduate degrees in the sciences, or are trained educators, and are experts at using science as a learning platform. Some of our senior staff members have been with Let’s Talk Science since it’s inception in 1993, while others bring tremendous knowledge from their previous work experience. Our dedicated group of volunteers is currently 2,000 members strong and is made up of graduate and undergraduate students at universities and colleges across the county, as well as professionals in the fields of science, engineering and technology. These enthusiastic volunteers visit elementary and high school classrooms and community settings from coast-to-coast to engage children and youth in exciting real-world hands-on/minds-on activities, free of charge. While doing so, our volunteers act as positive role models for today’s youth and break common stereotypes about science and scientists.
