Cheques & credit cards

You have many options available to you to make your contribution fit your needs and preferences: credit card, cheque or pre-authorized monthly credit card or bank debit. You can make your pledge ongoing or a one-time gift using your credit card. Gifts of $10 or more are issued a charitable receipt.

Designate Your United Way Contribution to Let’s Talk Science

Did you know you can direct all or part of your United Way donation to Let’s Talk Science even though we are not a United Way Partner agency?

All you have to do is indicate your wishes on your pledge card by writing:

I would like ___ % of my donation to go to Let’s Talk Science (indicating what percentage you would like designated to Let’s Talk Science).

Please include our charitable registration number 88540 0846 RR0001.

Also, you may call your local United Way to arrange for a gift to Let’s Talk Science over the phone or let your company United Way representative know that you wish to designate your contribution to Let’s Talk Science. They will provide you with all of the information that you will need to designate your gift. Please check if there is a minimum donation required to designate your gift this way (i.e. $20).

The United Way will send your donation to Let’s Talk Science and mail you a receipt. Because it may take a while for the United Way to notify Let’s Talk Science, please contact us to let us know about your gift, so we can thank you for your generous support. Let’s Talk Science encourages you to ensure that your contact information and gift details are forwarded to us along with your donation, so that we can provide you with appropriate recognition and track your generosity to our charitable work. If you would like Let’s Talk Science to have this information from United Way, please include a note on your United Way donor form asking that your name, company, title, address, telephone number and gift amount be forwarded to us.

Please note: the United Way will keep an administrative fee, and forward the balance of your donation to Let’s Talk Science; the United Way will send you your receipt for income tax purposes.

 

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double the impact of your gift to Let’s Talk Science, if your employer has a Matching Gift Program. A matching gift is a corporate donation that either equals or exceeds your contribution to Let’s Talk Science. Speak with your human resources department to ask if they do match gifts; your company may provide you with the necessary form to fill out and send to us.

And please, talk with the scientists, engineers and technology professionals where you work about what we do at Let’s Talk Science. Consider asking them to join you in a group gift to Let’s Talk Science to go along with a company gift match.
